34: you gotta let that ish go

Have you ever had something occur that you can’t quite shake off, like it keeps coming up to the surface with a tinge of pain each time you reflect on what happened? Well, this is my way of processing heavy shit in the most holistic way I know how… 
 
1.     Allow yourself to FEEL – put on a song that amplifies whatever feeling you might be trying to avoid OR allow yourself to simmer and calm your mind with something relaxing. Shifting into a more receptive state either way. 
2.     Once the feelings start to swirl, give yourself the time and space to write about what’s coming up to the surface. As Brene Brown explains, write our your shitty first draft. 
3.     Then BURN IT – maybe the feeling that you have been resistance to letting go or even a mindset shift that you are trying to intact. 
4.     As you burn whatever you’re trying to let go of, consciously Inhale what you’re calling in + exhale what you’re trying to release.  
5.     Lastly, move your body – do a some type of movement meditation that allows you to tap into the energetics of whatever you’re trying to flow through you. It doesn’t have to be vigorous, just intentional. 
 
This is not a hard set approach, incorporate what works for you and let go of the rest.  Try it out next time shit hits the fan and let me know how you feel, move and grow.
