7: warning signs of depression

Today’s episode is all about how to identify a depressive episode within yourself or with someone you love. Depression can occur only once during your life, but more often than not people experience multiple episodes. During these episodes, there are major changes in the following behaviors:
·       Feelings of sadness, emptiness or hopelessness
·       Angry outbursts or heightened irritability
·       Loss of interest or enjoyment in their hobbies, friendships or career
·       Insomnia or excessive sleeping
·       Lack of energy, lethargy, making even the smallest tasks seem impossible
·       Weight loss or gain
·       Issues concentrating and making decisions

For many people with depression, symptoms usually are severe enough to cause noticeable problems in day-to-day activities, such as work, school, social activities or relationships with others. Some people may feel generally miserable or unhappy without really knowing why.
