42: how to build boundaries, instead of barriers

What are boundaries to you? Are they walls you build to keep others out? Or are they opportunities to be selective in what you allow in so you can show up for those within the walls, including yourself?

Join Ashley and I as we discuss how hitting the wall of collapse forced us both to reevaluate what was sustainable in our current lifestyles and how creating malleable boundaries created a foundation for self love. Ashley Zimmerman, a somatic therapist + mental health counselor, grew up in Guam with parents that operated humanitarian centers for domestic violence and addiction and moved to the states for her first love of dance. We met at a yoga event and instantly hit it off. Her sweet demeanor and soulful approach to life was a perfect fit for the pod and I'm so grateful she joined us.

Our conversation exemplified her immense capacity for empathy and how that guides her approach to setting boundaries, along with her extensive experience guiding clients to do the same. With the holidays fast approaching, it felt appropriate to dive into this topic and share tips on how to honor your own needs as a form of self-care. Hope this supports you in establishing your own boundaries during these upcoming weeks!
